When we first decided to keep the cat, the two things that worried me the most were clearing out the poop and bathing the cat. After a few hours looking videos and tutorials u on Youtube, I was terrified. All I could think about is how scared of the water cats are and what if he takes his claws out at me.
So, the first time I did it was when he pooped and I thought, well this guy needs to get his body cleaned out. We locked him in his cage, put on the garden hose and basically gave him a shower. He scurried around in the cage but obviously, he had no escape.
The second time, we decided to hold him. I scrubbed him with a cat shampoo then again, used the garden hose. It was difficult to keep a hold of him but I managed. I still couldn’t find a way to keep him still.
However, the third time was the charm. Instead of showering him with the garden hose, I decided to run a bath in a basin, bubble it up with the shampoo then give him a proper bathe. He totally behaved. He didn’t even flinch. He was sound and obeyed to the rhythm of the scrubbing. Rinsing him out was a different story but hey, at least we found a more effective way.
