CACTI FOR MY ROOM

I’ve always been a huge fan of cacti, succulents and terrariums ever since the huge terrarium hype came along last year but I’ve never gotten to getting or making one of my own because I couldn’t seem to find the perfect pots and plants and I couldn’t really wrap my head around the whole DIY thing. However, last month I was determined to find the perfect home for a couple of cacti so I searched high and low at lower-end homeware stores like Wanda and Mr DIY, etc.

A couple of weeks ago, I dropped by the new mall in town, VivaCity Megamall to take a look at a couple of stores like Tokyo Station and Kaison. At Kaison, I found these really pretty and cute pots which look exactly like the mugs Estee Lalonde posted on her blog a couple weeks back. The ones Estee has are more expensive ones, even if it isn’t expensive in British Pounds, it would still be expensive when you times seven. These are only RM3, a complete deal! Anyway, they aren’t just pots, I’m pretty sure you can make it into whatever you want it to be, maybe a place to put all your pins or knick knacks but I want to fill them up with cacti and succulents. I only bought two because they only had three colors; brown, blue and pink (I think) and I didn’t fancy the pink so I didn’t buy any of those.

As soon as I got the pots, I immediately told my Mom I wanted to go to the market on the weekend to look at cacti and succulents. It was the first stall that we saw when we arrived, a huge selection of cacti and succulents, it was a beautiful spread indeed. I’m lucky I don’t have my own place yet or else, the cacti lady would’ve been made rich by me.

So, I put in some damp cotton pads in the pots then put the plants straight into them. I wanted to depot them but it would’ve been too messy and I think it’s more convenient this way anyway because I can change up the plants whenever I want. The plants are a bit too small for the pots but I couldn’t find any which were the exact size. Again, it wouldn’t look too small if I had just depot them but whatever. They still look pretty in my opinion.

I named these Bella and Thorne. Succulent as Bella and cactus as Thorne because I’m punny as heck.

Talk again soon,
