On my final day in Kuala Lumpur, I made it a point to have brunch at Breakfast Thieves before my flight at 4PM. I’ve seen a few of my Instagram followings eat here and the food looks so good, I just had to give it a try.
If you’ve been following this blog since the very beginning, you would know that I am a huge fan of Rimba & Rusa since the day it opened. When I was planning my trip to Kuala Lumpur, visiting Rimba & Rusa was at the top of my list. I follow them on Instagram so I am pretty up to date with all their menu updates and whatnot. I have been wanting to try out all the new dishes they’ve introduced since the last time I was there and it was finally time that I did exactly that.
I went to Rimba & Rusa after I visited the National Zoo, which is pretty ironic because I literally just came from seeing the rimba and the rusa at the zoo. I was trying to keep myself on a very tight budget because I need to save up for another travel adventure at the end of December, but when I opened the menu, I couldn’t help myself.
I’ve been meaning to visit the new Nando’s at The Spring, Kuching for quite some time now but I haven’t had the time to actually go. When Nando’s asked me to come and have lunch with them, I RSVP-ed straight away. Saying no is never an option when it comes to my favourite Peri Peri chicken, it’s either YES or HELL YES!
When the staff started sending out the food, there were a couple of side dishes that I have never seen on the menu. I was intrigued so I asked around, and they are apparently new additions to the Nando’s menu! Like as if we needed to be spoiled with more options!
Last week I had some extra time on my hands because we had a one week holiday. So, I decided to pay a visit to Kuehpedia Cafe & Boutique, a new restaurant which has been the talk of the town. I’ve been hearing so many good things about it, I follow them on Instagram so everything seemed far too interesting for me to not check it out for myself.
Yesterday, I was at Earthlings Coffee Workshop HQ to attend my first ever hi-juice party with Pure9 Juices. A hi-juice party is simply a hi-tea, only with juice, instead of tea. I’ve never tried anything from Pure9 Juices before, despite seeing them around on shelves all around Kuching so this party was the perfect opportunity for me to get my juicing game on!
I go through phases with food. There have been times where I used to eat sushi every single week, ayam penyet every single week and the cycle continues with every other dish available in the market. This time, I think I’m super obsessed with tom yam. I’ve been trying out all the different restaurants serving tom yam soup and I’ve actually found a couple of my favourite ones. However, today, it isn’t about tom yam soup. It’s about this tomyam fried rice.
I follow Farhanah Firdaus (AKA Faafirds on Youtube) and Filzah Razak on Snapchat and a couple of weeks ago, they posted their tomyam fried rice recipes and I salivated while watching them cook. So, this morning, I decided to make my own rendition of the mouth-watering tomyam fried rice.
I attended a faculty dinner last night – something I’ve been waiting for years to happen. If you don’t see me at school, you won’t know this but I am such a lazy person every day. I go to school wearing baju kurung or baggy clothes, I wear the same shoes every day and I wear only one layer of foundation. I don’t put any effort into my looks, I never try to look semi-presentable. Basically, I think I always look a tiny bit homeless. But a faculty dinner is the only place people can see me all dressed up and made up for a few hours.
