I always tell people that I’m super adventurous and I love travelling but the truth is, I really am not. When I say travelling, I really mean travelling to cities with all those glamorous travel shows in mind. When my friends asked if I want to go to a hot spring in Padawan, about 2 hours from the centre of Kuching, I said immediately said no. I did not want to drive to the middle of nowhere and soak myself in water for no apparent reason. But since they insisted, I felt super duper lame and unadventurous so I eventually agreed to go anyway.
I ended up being the designated driver of the day so I got ready by 8AM, I picked my friends up and by the time we were at BDC, it was already a bit over 10AM. The drive to Annah Rais from BDC was less than 2 hours, with the help of Waze, of course. I did not expect it to be too far away but heck, it was crazy far. I wish I know how to describe the journey we had to reach the place but it really was like nothing I expected. Most of the time, the drive felt eerie and the rest were filled with “oohs” and “aahs” at the beautiful trees and mountain tops. I’ve never been that deep into the mountains before so I was pretty much in awe and fear at the same time.
My friends and I have just sat for our final exams and hopefully, have completed our Diploma. Since a couple of my friends are not from Kuching and will return to their hometowns soon, we decided to hang out more to make exceptional memories during our last few days together. Yesterday, we decided to check out Mami Cendol, a place I’ve been to before but I’ve never properly checked it out and tasted all the food. Mami Cendol is a very famous cendol place in Kuching, probably because it’s rare to find in the catcity.
Last week I had some extra time on my hands because we had a one week holiday. So, I decided to pay a visit to Kuehpedia Cafe & Boutique, a new restaurant which has been the talk of the town. I’ve been hearing so many good things about it, I follow them on Instagram so everything seemed far too interesting for me to not check it out for myself.
I have been spending a lot of my time doing school work (lies) or doing nothing, I’m not so sure but I’ve been very much occupied at home. I’m always in bed, either watching something on my laptop, trying to sort my thoughts and my life out and in the day, I would be in school. Just this week, I’ll be in school for an entire day for three days in a row, just thinking about it makes me feel so tired and fed up. So, any time that I get to whip my camera out and relax, I’m down.
A few weekends ago, Damai Beach Resort held their own food festival and regardless being quite the distance, I brought Crah to travel to the beach for some food. It was a very rainy morning but as soon as the rain died down a bit, we made our way to the sea.
Last month, I was intrigued by the Azam Youth Central Carnival that was held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching so I decided to pay my visit and see what it’s all about. The carnival was held in correspondence to the Forum Belia Tegas 2015 and from what I saw, it was all about entrepreneurship and being successful, basically to inspire and motivate the youths of today to become better and more successful beings.
When I was asked whether I would like to go to world-known Rainforest World Music Festival with the Sarawak Tourism Board, I could not say no. I have never been to a concert before, what more a music festival! So, I was really excited to go and see what the hype is all about!
